At Cyfarthfa High School we place huge importance on the opportunities and experiences that students receive outside of their normal timetabled lessons and the advantages that they provide. From developing academic and non-academic skills and knowledge as well as essential life skills such as team-building, goal setting, public speaking and leadership skills to higher self-esteem, resilience and raise aspirations, these opportunities are designed to enhance a young person’s time in school.
We feel strongly that participation in enrichment activities gives students the opportunity to develop interests that may influence their future careers or broaden their world view. Whilst we hope that participation will enhance students’ academic outcomes, we also have faith that our students will have fun and make new friends whilst enjoying their time at Cyfarthfa, leaving at the end of their years of study with positive experiences and opportunities to go with their outstanding academic attainment.
Please take a look at some of the clubs and activities on offer to our students and encourage your child to attend as many activities as they like. Students can speak with any staff member to find out more details. Please note that sporting activities are subject to change depending on fixtures to be scheduled and therefore some clubs maybe cancelled to allow a fixture to occur. This will be communicated via the Health and Wellbeing Faculty through ClassCharts on a weekly basis.
Please check our social media pages and class charts for any important messages regarding our enrichment activities. Staff will communicate any changes in activities as and when needed.
Please do not hesitate to contact school should you have any queries or suggestions regarding our enrichment timetable.
